Bordeaux airport

Bordeaux airport is a French airport serving the city of Bordeaux. The IATA airport code is BOD. The airport is actually located in the town of Merignac, 10 km (6 mi) from the city of Bordeaux. The airport is the sixth busiest airport in France, serving 3,300,000 passengers in 2009. The airport functions on a three hall basis; all the three halls are located in a single terminal. The two key halls are known as terminals A and B. A third hall-Billi-was recently inaugurated on May 2009.
The airport is easily accessible by road. The airport is well signposted. You just have to follow an aeroplane logo in the suburb of Merignac. Once you get near the airport, the signs may change to ‘aerogare’, the French for airport terminals. You have to take the 2×2 motorway around Bordeaux, the ‘rocade de Bordeaux’ or the ‘Le boulevard peripherique’, the official designation for which is Autoroute A630. The airport is also connected by the Jet’ Bus shuttle. 1-2 shuttles run every hour depending on the hour of your travelling. It takes around 45 minutes on the bus shuttle from Bordeaux to the airport. The bus fares are 7 Euros for a single ride and 12 Euros for a return ticket. Discount packages are available for passengers above 60 years of age, less than 26 years of age or for families of 3 or more members. The discount prices are 6 Euros for a single ride and 10 Euros for a return ride. You do not have to pay any bus fare for children under 5 years of age.
